Kawala, is an Egyptian flute traditionally made of bamboo. Most often played today at religious festivals, it has its origin as being what shepherds used to guide their flock. For this reasons, it is said, the Kawala is seen to assist in any musical composition that consists of a "call-and-response" sequence.
